Grosvenor Fencing Club Strikes Gold

grosvenor fencing club Gold Clubmark AwardGrosvenor Fencing Club committee set out two years ago to completely revolutionise the way we, as a standard N.Ireland fencing club operated. After enormous amounts of hard work, we are proud to announce that we have been awarded the highest Gold Standard in Clubmark.

Clubmark is the UK measure, adopted by each individual countries overseeing body i.e. Sport NI, Sport England etc. that sets minimum standards in the areas of ‘effective management’, ‘quality coaching and competition’ and ‘safety in sport’ for ALL sporting clubs to try and achieve. [Read More]

GOLD is the highest standard attainable by any Sports Club and makes us one of a relatively small number of sports clubs throughout the UK to have achieved this elite standard.

The official description of Gold standard is “Gold award status recognises excellence in provision within the accredited club in question" So we now officially have Excellent Club status.

Although we have reached the highest level of Clubmark, we will continue working to develop fencing, both in our club and in N.Ireland and to deliver the best available coaching, training and competition experience for All our members benefit. We know we already have some of the best coaches in N.Ireland working with us and a lot of the top Junior and Senior Fencers also. We shall also continue to build on our strong relations with Belfast City Council and Sport N.I. and to that end we have a number of major joint projects coming up in the near future which our membership can get fully involved in.

This award of excellence is for everyone in our club from committee member to beginner fencer. WELL DONE GROSVENOR FENCING CLUB. TAKE A BOW.

Here are a few of the changes that Clubmark has introduced in the last two years.
