Grosvenor Summer Training Camp 2011
Foil, Epee & Sabre
Latest: We are delighted that Mike Westgate will be working with Don and coaching Epee and Sabre from Wednesday 17th - Friday 19th.
After the stunning success of last years event we are pleased to announce that we will again be holding our annual Summer Training Camp from Monday 15th August to Friday 19th August 2011.
This is one of the most successful ways for fencers to prepare for 
the new season. Last year one of the fencers who trained with us went on to achieve Bronze at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Australia and another achieved bronze at the UK School Games in England. On top of this we will have N.Ireland, Ireland and G.B Internationals along with Junior fencing champions and Senior N.Ireland, Ireland and G.B Open winners training over the full week.
The coach again this year will be Don McKenzie, a Great Britain Olympic and World Championship Finals Foilist and Gold, Silver and Bronze winner at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships. Don is also currently one of the Top British Coaches around and is involved in talent development for Scottish Fencing.
We are also delighted to have Mike Westgate with us this year. Mike is a Master of Arms (Highest coaching level available) and he will be working with 
Don from Wednesday 17th to Friday 19th. Mike will be focusing on Epee and Sabre over those 3 days.
The format this year will be Monday to Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm with Lunch 12.30pm - 1.30pm. Training sessions will be specifically focused on developing different skills relative to the fencers ability.
We are offering three different options to facilitate mainly younger members or those traveling long distance.
Prices:
Full Week - £125.00
Mornings Only - £75.00 (primarily for younger members)
Single Day - £35.JPG)
Special Three Day Package - Epee and Sabre - £70.00
£20 discount may be applied if two members from same family apply for Full Week.
N.B. Club members should get a separate application form either from the club or via. email below.
Some Important Points.
Please note: last year the course sold out very quickly so it is advisable to get your entries in ASAP.
We are placing a limit on beginner level fencers under 12 or less than 2 years experience. This is to ensure we can facilitate more experienced fencers. If you fall into this category please email before applying.
Full fencing kit must be worn when fencing including Plastron and long socks. T-shirt, shorts etc. are fine for non-fencing training.
All food and water (we recommend at least 4 litres) should be brought along with fencers attending. Water bottles can be refilled at the school.
All participants should ensure that their equipment complies fully with current BFA safety guidelines.
Grosvenor will only lend extra kit to Full Members, anyone else will be charged £5.00 per item, per day.
