Club Progress & AGM Update

We have underwent major club development changes in the past 8 months, all designed to improve our clubs organisation, coaching and training practices. A reliable indicator of any sporting club is its performance in its chosen sporting field.

As a committee we are the only fencing club with 'Clubmark' and people have clearly identified with our way of operating which has seen our membership increase dramatically over the last few months.

Our training and coaching practices can be gauged by our fencers performances and results which are also dramatic.

In the 2008 - 2009 season we achieved a total of 23 medals as a club. In the 2009 - 2010 season we increased this to 29 medals. We are currently only 2 months into the 2010 - 2011 season and our medal tally sits at 27 medals. This is a good indication our club, coaching and training are on the right course.

As a result of all this success and our rapid growth we are going to form a volunteer/parents working group. We have had a number of parents already showing an interest and enquiring how they could become more involved with helping in the club and this is something we are very grateful for. If any other parents are interested we would encourage them to come along to our AGM when we will ratify this working group into existence.
