New Season U16 Fencing

At the end of the last NI Junior Series a number of concerns were raised regarding the coming season and the lack of suitable U16 Junior Competition for our members. After negotiations and discussions between N.I Fencing and Grosvenor a compromise has been reached which we are happy to support. It is as follows from N.I Fencing:

"To enhance the experience and engagement of fencers moving from the Northern Ireland Junior Series into the adult stream, we are creating an U16 medal and points system for incorporation into each senior event. At the end of the season the U16 NI champion will be identified in each weapon, based on points accumulated from all the senior NI competitions (only). Further to this accolade each U16 champion will receive a trophy and an individual award of £50 provided by NIF ltd."

This means the 4 NIF events will become the new basis by which our U16 fencers will now compete for points. We hope this delivers the suitable level of competition our members require.
