Grosvenor's Maritime Fencing Display
This was a fabulous success and I think it was enjoyed by absolutely everyone, from the fencers and parents, to the members of the public who all seemed to have a fantastic time. Apart from the fact everyone seemed to enjoy the fencing displays being put on by our junior members right through to our international fencers, the public participation was outstanding throughout the day. I have never seen so many adults and children actually queuing up to have a go at fencing. The club committee would like to say a big Thank You to all it's members and parents and helpers who turned out in such large numbers on the day and showed the people of Belfast why our fencing club is the BEST. If you enjoyed the experience remember Grovenor Fencing Club will be going 'On Tour' again very soon. Make sure your applications are in if you want to be a part of it. Bronze at British Youth Championships
Congratulations to Jonathan Little who at the recent U10 British Youth Championships in Shropshire achieved a 3rd placing. Jonathan put in some fabulous performances along the way. This is a fantastic achievement for Jonathan and is the highest placing a N.Ireland Foilist has ever reached in this competition. This follows on from the great performances of David Patterson - 9th and Clarke Little - 13th, three weeks ago in the U16 & U18 BYC age groups. Another indication of Grosvenor Fencers continuing to improve and raise their standard of fencing, both locally and nationally. [Gallery]
The Grosvenor Junior Challenge
Our Junior Challenge was a brilliant success on Tuesday night. We had a great turnout from fencers along with great support from their families. British Youth Championships
We had an excellent showing this year at the BYC's from our five club entrants. Strong performances came from Clarke Little U18 Foil(in his final year) and David Patterson U16 Foil. Also on their first showing at this event, Stephen Brown and Christopher Thompson U14 Foil, had some excellent performances. Jonathan Little U12 Foil, as the youngest of our members (at only 10) also finished very strongly. All our fencers enjoyed themselves and finished the strongest of the N.Ireland fencers in their respective categories. We now look forward to continue building on our success for future events. Grosvenor's New Fencing Hall

The New Sports Hall that we have been waiting on for months has finally been opened to the club, and what a success it has been. It is close to three times the size of our previous hall with the latest lighting, ventilation and floor surface. This is exactly what we needed, with a rapidly growing number of members. On our first night we had a total of six pistes in operation with one dedicated to Sabre, one for Epee and four for Foil. On our second night we had five pistes dedicated to Foil. Check out some pictures of the opening nights action in our gallery, and as you can see we had a typical Grosvenor training night, lots of fun, but with the emphasis always on productive fencing.
